Cheap juggling equipment Options and learning resources for club.
My YoYo club DMV throwers, partners with our local library in Arlington VA and as we have been expanding the program we have been branching out to other skill toys to attract a larger group. From YoYo, to diabolo, to kendama and spin tops. These are all things I have some experience with and equipment to share with new comers (I have a bag of spare tops, Kens, yoyo, etc that’s stays with the library for the program. )
What I don’t have and think would be neat is juggling stuff and experience with juggling other than very basic stuff. I plan to head to a local juggling group in a few weeks to learn from them in Fairfax Va but in the mean time if anyone has any resources they can point me to for learning and knows of cheap options for club gear to keep on hand for the program that would be super helpful. I’m fairly new to this and not really all that in the know so I’m open to any suggestion even if they seem like no brainers to folks who have been doing this a while.
I’m also open to diy options I’ve made some poi in the past but I don’t know what weights would make sense for juggling if I went this route or what materials make sense.
Thanks for the recommendations in advanced.
I know this may be difficult to justify but I wouldn't go with cheap clubs for learning to juggle. It is a lot less fun and less inviting to learn to juggle with cheap clubs and I think the investment in good clubs is worthwhile.
Currently the most popular brands are Play and Henrys (which are both used by professional jugglers). Which one is preferable is mostly a matter of taste, my own preference is Henrys Pirouette because they have models with wrapped handles which are a bit soft, so easy on the hands but still light and with good control, but you don't got wrong with either Play or Henrys. Play may be more durable for some models (and I would prefer their colors, but the feel of the Henrys is more important to me). If you really have to go cheap, I've heard that the one piece clubs from Play are pretty good - as far as one piece clubs go. Henrys provide phenomenal service in europe (they fixed two of my clubs (>10 years old) with broken body for 5 euro per club) but I don't know how their service is in the USA (they are on the EJC's and some of the bigger juggling conventions in germany and usually fix clubs then but I have no idea if they provide such service if you would sent them in - maybe someone else can comment on that).
I'm not aware of the formerly big names for USA made clubs like Renegade. The company still seems to exist (by name at least) but as they offer clubs from Play and Henrys on their webpage I'm not sure how their own clubs compare. They also seem to service Henrys clubs as well as assembling Play and Henrys clubs to spec.
Oh... rereading your post it might not have been about juggling clubs (as in the long objects to throw in the air) but more generally a club for juggling (i.e. the organization of a group of people around the activity of juggling). Anyway, my club argument stands :)

Ha. Yeah it’s equipment for a club but your club advice is very helpful regardless. Thank you.
